Website re-vamped in preparation for the release of the new album, 'Sundaze'

April 2007 - December 2008

Concentrating on promoting 'Black Day' and networking on Myspace pages. But, most importantly I'm writing new material for 'Sundaze' and spending time in the studio with the new tracks.

I've neglected these pages somewhat but felt that the time was right to be creative again!

Gigged periodically with my covers band 'Spudz' - enjoyed being in the 'live' again and slipping a few 'original' songs into the set from time to time.

Continued to work very closely with my friend Kunta Anglais-Mouldin.

March 2007

I have two more new tracks finished now; 'Forever' and 'The Same Man' (90 second soundbites are on my 'MUSIC' page). I've just entered the four (see January 2007 below) new tracks as a demo into the 2007 Toxic Pete / ffg Studios Demo Competition.

January 2007

I have two new tracks finished now; 'My Country' and 'Right Or Wrong' (90 second soundbites are on my 'MUSIC' page). I shall be concentrating on writing new material over the next few weeks - I'll keep you posted on how things are progressing!

December 2006

I know I've been quiet lately but what with Christmas and work etc I just haven't had enough free time to myself to think about my music. I have been in the studio again though to record 'My Country'.

September 2006

In the studio again. Still busy writing new material. Touched heads with my old mate Kuunta Anglais-Mouldin and his brother Randy the other day and talked about collaborating on some stuff.

August 2006

In the studio to record new song ('Right Or Wrong') - session went extremely well and I hope to get an mp3 soundbite onto this site very shortly.

July 2006

Loads of you have asked why I haven't got a 'Comments' page on this site. Well, this month sees the addition of not one but two 'FEEDBACK' (no pun intended) pages. There's one for general website comments (link from 'CONTACT' page), and one specifically for my music (link on 'MUSIC' page).

Also, we've added secure on-line payment facilities (Pay Pal) to buy my CD's etc. This feature makes it much easier and quicker for you to buy my merchandise on-line.>

June 2006

Ok, so I've been a bit quiet lately. I've been working on some new material and looking at some other projects.

'Black Day' CD sales are steady and I've been getting some good 'Feedback' (no pun intended!) from those who've bought a copy and from loads of Myspace visitors.

I'm thinking of going back into the studio again soon to get a few new ideas down and sorted.

April 2006

Touched heads, via the almighty www, with my old mate Kuunta Anglais-Mouldin (click for myspace page). We're already talking about doing some sort of collaboration; a lot of people who know us and our music think that we could work together like real brudders. How does 'blues on a RicK' sound? Watch this space for news!!

March 2006

Signed up to two 'Myspace' pages - www.myspace.com/darrenjsheppard and www.myspace.com/sheppardjarvisandmason - posted 4 full length tracks at each address.

February 2006

Nonny James featured tracks from 'Black Day' on her BBC Hereford & Worcester radio show.

Sheppard Jarvis & Mason rehearsals commenced with a view to gigging with 'Black Day' - both electric and acoustic sets are envisaged - watch this space!!

January 2006

'Face The Music', Cathedral Plaza, Worcester have agreed to stock 'Black Day'. Other outlets are being sought. The promotion campaign for 'Black Day' continues.

Darren is busy writing new material and is looking to get back in studio in the next few weeks.

December 2005

'Black Day' was released on December 5th. The album is to be reviewed by Worcester's Berrows Newspapers and local freelance reviewer Toxic Pete.

A new album is already in 'the pipeline' and is scheduled for release sometime mid 2007.

Autumn 2005

Elliot Webb, one of BRMB's top DJ's expressed great interest in 'Black Day'. It is expected to be featured on his Breakfast Show shortly.

June 2004

'Not That Kind' and 'How I Feel About You', from the on-going project 'Black Day', were entered into competition on BBC Radio 2 for a program called 'Sold On Song'. The competition entitled anyone with an original song to enter. There were 10,500 entries and the winner was announced in September 2004. The guys had forgotten about the competition until, in January 2005, Darren received a phone call from Richard Rogers who was one of the judges and is a top A&R guy in the music industry working for all the major record labels including Warner Bros and EMI. 'Not That Kind' had been selected as one of the top twenty entries from the original 10,500!! Richard Rogers requested more tracks for him to listen to. Subsequently, Darren signed a publishing contract for 'Not That Kind' with NCompass Publishing and he and Pete still have another four tracks pending.
